Cummins ISX 12 Shim .045 thick

The ISX has a captive shim on the liner, and we believe 2 additional add on shims available to compensate for cutting the block.  Our shims are designed as a time and effort saving option.   We understand the manual cutting operation and how hard it is to hand cut through .020+ of material.   With ours, remove ALL the original equipment shims,  put in one of our oversize shims in place, set liner in, torque down, measure protrusion.  You will normally see you have to cut way less material, maybe as little as .010 material needs to be removed (for the .045 size on a first overhaul).   This is providing the fretting on the exhaust side isn't too excessive. This also leaves room for addition overhauls, because our shims are designed to fall in between OEM oversizes.   Also our ISX shims are larger on outside diameter, make sure shim has clearance around OD to "float" and find its happy place without holding liner up and giving mis measurement.
